The Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika
The private 2-bedroomed Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika is part of Mara Nyika Camp and a member of the Great Plains Conservation Réserve-Collection of safari camps. Together, they are located in the private 20,000-hectare Naboisho Conservancy. This is a unique area to explore and forms the perfect juxtaposition to one’s safari when combining your stay with our other Kenyan Safari Camps.
Each wildlife experience from our camps is unique and offers guests the opportunity to experience the different Mara faces, which is an unbelievable bonus.
Typical of the Maasai Mara’s ancient Nyika is the flat-topped Acacia kirkii trees. The Dereck Joubert-designed Sambuk Suite takes advantage of these umbrella-thorn trees’ shade. While the Mara Nyika Camp is in a valley straddling a small stream, this 2-bedroomed suite is set away from the main camp area and up high under the tree’s canopy to offer guests awe-inspiring views out over the bush and total privacy.
When residing at the Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika, guests automatically enjoy the services of a private butler, safari drive vehicle, and wildlife guide, ensuring a private luxury safari in Kenya when exploring the Naboisho Conservancy.
Guests can enjoy in-room spa treatments and visit the bush boutique for retail therapy in the main camp area (an easy walk away).

Many may think of Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika as a treetop camp, where the raised walkway linking Mara Nyika Camp’s main area gives a feel of a treehouse under canvas.
However, the entire camp’s ethic and inspiration are still one of exploration and adventure – a sense of impermanence in this ever-changing world.

Located at the very end of the raised walkway of Mara Nyika Camp and tucked under the tree canopy surrounding the camp, the 2-bedroomed private Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika offers guests the ultimate luxury and privacy and a personal Kenya safari experience.
This Great Plains Conservation Réserve-Collection suite offers guests two large, expansive suites that lead off a private central lounge and dining area. The nightly rates include the services of a private guide, safari vehicle and butler.
Safari Experiences
The Sambuk Suite at Mara Nyika is located on the expansive Naboisho Private Conservancy. This suite is accompanied by a private safari guide and safari drive vehicle. This ensures that you can alter your wildlife viewing experience exactly to your tastes and preferences. Although early morning and evening drives are standard, you are encouraged to create your own schedule that will maximize your experience.
Your safari vehicle is open-sided, canopied, and customised for photographers with fold-down screens, a raised roof, photographic bars and multi-plug inverters. High-quality binoculars and a professional camera set are in your suite to show off your skills and capture the moments you never want to forget.
Suppose you’re looking for a change of scenery during your stay. In that case, the Naboisho Women’s Group, sponsored by the Great Plains Foundation, offers beaded & leather products, coasters, jewellery, decorated dawa sticks and much more, offering the perfect locally-made souvenirs to take back home.
Hot air ballooning is also available at an extra cost, offering you an opportunity to experience the incredible wildlife from a birds-eye point of view.

Naboisho Women’s Group: Supporting a Women-Only Business in the Maasai Mara
The Great Plains-sponsored Naboisho Women’s Group empowers local women to contribute their household income to healthcare and education for their families. The project directly impacts the 105 households where the women who work on the bead products, honey, and soap-making projects come from. In addition, a further 1,000 people directly supported by these households will benefit.
